Timo Nevalainen works at the intersection of dialogue practice and professional higher education, bringing a practitioner's perspective to an institutional context not always designed for open inquiry. In this talk, he addresses the specific challenges that arise when dialogue is introduced into programmes shaped by professional norms, credentialing demands, and expert-knowledge hierarchies. Nevalainen considers how these pressures can suppress the conditions dialogue requires, including suspension, listening, and genuine uncertainty, and points toward approaches that have helped shift the culture within educational settings.
