Members’ Consultation re Virtual Conference TIMO - 27th May 2020

How does an organisation built on face-to-face dialogue adapt when a global pandemic makes gathering impossible? This May 2020 consultation recording captures the Academy mid-pivot, working through what a virtual conference could and should become.

Held on 27th May 2020, this members' consultation was convened to think through the shape of a forthcoming virtual conference under the TIMO (The Incompleteness of My Own) programme set. With in-person events suspended, the Academy faced a question central to its own principles: whether the container that makes dialogue possible can be reconstructed across screens and time zones. The consultation brought members into that design process directly, embodying the Academy's commitment to collective discernment rather than top-down decision-making. As an archive item, the recording offers a candid view of the organisation navigating uncertainty while trying to remain true to its values. It sits within the ADWOW programme sets and documents a moment of genuine institutional adaptation.
