Generative Dialogue on Peacebuilding - 12th May 2022

Can dialogue do what diplomacy alone cannot? This May 2022 session brings practitioners and participants together to examine the role of generative dialogue in peacebuilding contexts, where the stakes of conversation could not be higher.

Recorded on 12th May 2022, this Academy session explores how generative dialogue is applied in peacebuilding work, moving beyond positional negotiation toward the kind of deep listening and collective inquiry that can shift entrenched conflict dynamics. The session draws on practitioner experience to examine what makes dialogue generative rather than merely procedural in settings marked by historical grievance, mistrust, and divided communities. Participants reflect in small groups on how these principles connect to their own contexts, guided by the cohosts in the standard participative webinar format. The session sits within a broader body of Academy work on dialogue's role in community and societal transformation.
