A Participative Webinar with Sandra Janoff
Sandra Janoff
How do you demobilise 2,500 child soldiers during a civil war? Sandra Janoff co-developed Future Search for getting whole systems focused on the future. Her work across 45 countries shows what becomes possible when fragmented groups find common ground together.
Sandra Janoff co-developed Future Search with Marvin Weisbord: a principle-based methodology for getting 'whole systems' focused on the future and creating values-based action strategies. Her work spans 45 countries addressing complex economic and social issues: demobilising 2,500 child soldiers during Sudan's civil war, preventing child abuse in Ugandan schools, creating welcoming conditions for refugees with the Church of Sweden, and transforming state corrections systems in Nebraska, Washington, Massachusetts, and Virginia. Janoff has a deep commitment to moving people from fragmentation to wholeness. Director of Future Search Network and recipient of OD Network's 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award, she sees her work as aligned with David Bohm's philosophy of reality as a seamless whole. In this participative webinar, cohosts Nancy Dixon and Linda Ellinor interview Janoff about her thinking before participants reflect in small groups. For practitioners interested in how dialogue principles scale to large group interventions, Janoff demonstrates what becomes possible.
