About

WELCOME TO: A DIFFERENT WAY OF WORKING

This programme develops the skills and disposition that enable graduates to take a group of people from any organizational sector or culture into dialogue. Working with dialogue leads to generative outcomes that go beyond what had previously seemed inevitable.

Online Sessions: You do not need previous experience in dialogue to apply for A Different Way of Working. The programme is held online enabling people from many countries and sectors to participate. Over six months we meet for four half days each month (100 hrs of facilitated sessions), and the programme includes seven fieldwork assignments.

The 2026 programme is delivered by Dialogue Associates.  The faculty members are Peter Garrett, Jane Ball and Parvin Daeipour. Between them they have extensive first-hand experience and knowledge of working with dialogue stretching back to the 1980s. See A New Kind of Dialogue by Peter Garrett.

This is the Academy´s foundational programme, with accreditation based on criteria determined by the Professional Standards and Accreditation Board of the Academy of Professional Dialogue. Graduates are accredited by the Academy, and are entitled to use the initials APDP (Accredited Professional Dialogue Practitioner). They are eligible to apply for the Academy´s next accreditation programme: Dialogic Intervention.

Professional Dialogue:  is a generative mode of talking and thinking together that has a different structure and process from other forms of discourse like monologue, debate, discission or conversation. The programme incorporates David Bohm´s Implicate Order ontology and a new form of dialogue that originated with members of the Academy working with him in the 1980s.
