Contemporary classrooms reveal both the possibilities and the challenges of learning together. Attention often turns toward the individual rather than the collective; distance—both physical and emotional—shapes interactions; social bonds are weakened; respect is shifting; and many children experience a scarcity of live, reciprocal exchange. Within this landscape, we have discovered that dialogue is a vital practice, where teachers and learners think together within a shared relational field. Drawing on our practice and grounded in an embodied stance of presence and enquiry, we will explore how to nurture belonging, curiosity, and co-creation. and the living spirit of learning in the classroom.

Sofi and Lodize are first-generation pioneers of the Dialogic Classroom research programme leading this work in their respective schools.

Lodize Deysel is an Accredited Professional Dialogue Practitioner, educator, and facilitator integrating Philosophy for Children, embodiment, and reflective enquiry to cultivate relational presence, co-agency, and collective learning within educational and community contexts.  She leads the reception classes at Capella House in Cape Town, South Africa.

Sofia Del Tuffo, APDP 2025, is an actress, pedagogue, and social educator with an MSc. in dance therapy. From an interdisciplinary perspective, she investigates the impact of digital life on children's emotional and learning development. She works at Arco Iris School in Buenos Aires where she coaches the teachers to integrate Dialogue into their teaching practice.
