Members’ Consultation re Virtual Conference GLENNA - 27th May 2020

How does a community of dialogue practitioners reimagine its annual gathering when the world goes remote? This May 2020 recording captures AofPD members consulting together on the shape of their first virtual conference.

Held on 27th May 2020, this members' consultation brought the AofPD community into deliberation about how to adapt its conference format to a fully virtual setting — a challenge that was new territory for almost every professional community at the time. The session reflects the Academy's commitment to practising what it teaches: rather than having decisions handed down, members were invited into the planning process itself, modelling the consultative and dialogic principles central to AofPD's identity. As part of the ADWOW programme sets, the recording sits within a broader archive of community governance and collective sense-making. It offers a candid window into how a practitioner community navigates uncertainty together, making it relevant both as a historical document of the pandemic period and as an example of dialogue-centred organisational self-governance.
