Dialogic Engagement - Participant Field Guide
AofPD
What does it mean to engage dialogically — and how do you develop that capacity in practice? The Academy's Participant Field Guide for Dialogic Engagement accompanies learners through the core disciplines and orientations that distinguish genuine dialogue from ordinary conversation.
Designed as a working companion for participants in AofPD's Dialogic Engagement programme, this field guide supports the development of the inner and outer practices that dialogue requires. Participants encounter key concepts — suspension, listening, inquiry, and the cultivation of a container — alongside reflective prompts and exercises that deepen embodied understanding rather than theoretical familiarity alone. The guide tracks the arc of the programme, helping participants locate themselves within the learning and connect each session to the broader question of what it takes to become a practitioner. It serves both as a resource during the programme and as a reference to return to as practice matures.
